All male over 50 are eligible to apply for the Senior Professional Golfer Examination. Exam Committee of SPGA will arrange venue and time for examination upon receipt of examination fee. Examination fee of the SPG Exam is RMB 7000, green fee, caddie fee and accommodation included. Field for examination would be around 6585 yard long. Candidates have to start from a blue golf tee. Passing requirement of the exam is to finish 36 holes in 158 scores. The exam lasts for 2 days, 18 holes each day. Candidate may request finishing all 36 holes in 1 day and the exam committee will try to arrange accordingly. If candidates can finish with 79 scores or below during any 1 day of the exam, they may take a makeup exam in the next exam period. If candidates cannot finish with 79 scores or below in both exam days, they will have to take a re-exam. Please contact us for details of the re-exam. Candidates must follow the One Ball Rule of the intentional golf rule. Candidate must also report their actual score to invigilator, and obey the judgment of invigilators. Candidates may receive swing direction from invigilators before starting the exam, or discuss with invigilators the strategy for exam, but will not receive any tips from invigilators during the exam. Apart from the golfing skills, SPGA also assess the level of obedience to game rules, manner of speech and playing of the candidates. And all these would be given the same priority to the golfing skills. SPGA may not give candidates with unsatisfying golfing manner a pass in the exam even their scores meet the passing requirement. HKSPGA qualification is recognized by other SPGA around the world. It is also a qualification for golf coach and management personnel of golf clubs. Candidates should take the exam seriously and be prepared in both golfing skills and golfing manner before the exam. |
